£40 - £55/hour

Job Description

To organise and deliver 14 hours of coaching per week to Junior Club members and our Under 10s. We have 135 Juniors (10-18 years old) split into 6 coaching groups and 80 Under 10s split into 5 coaching groups.

You will require a team of coaching assistants to support your role and it will be your responsibility to recruit suitable individuals from inside or outside the Club, to help develop their coaching skills and to pay for their services.

You will be available to deliver coaching to any Adult members of the Club at mutually-convenient times. You will have the ability to run coaching sessions for Juniors (from 5 to 18 years old) during the school half-term and summer holidays.

We will pay you for delivering our Junior tennis programme for 10 to 18 year olds (9.5 hours per week). All other coaching sessions (including for the Under 10s) will be paid for by the children or adults being coached by you.

There is the scope for you to organise private coaching lessons at the Club outside of the above sessions.

In due course we would like you to organise our Road to Wimbledon and Junior Club tournaments and upload the results to the LTA.

There is the possibility to organise ratings days and mini-tennis competitions.

You will liaise closely with Management Committee of the Club over the Junior programme and the other coaching sessions you want to run.

You will be required to keep accurate records of those being coached and the hours which you work.

Venue Overview

We are a family-orientated Club based in Loughton, with 4 outdoor artificial grass courts and 1 outdoor tarmacadam mini-tennis court. One of our artificial grass courts has floodlights which are available until 10pm each evening.

We have 82 Adult members and 135 Junior members. In addition we have 80 under 10s receiving coaching at least once a week.

We strive for a balance between competitive match play and social play and believe in integrating the older Junior members into the Adult social sessions.

Person Specification

We are looking for a coach that is experienced in delivering a Junior Tennis programme across the full age range and abilities. They must have excellent speaking and listening skills, good administration skills as well as good leadership and team-building skills.

Experience in delivering cardio-tennis programmes and Junior competitions would be beneficial.
