Job Description

The Shrewsbury Club is looking for a passionate 11 & under lead performance coach to become an integral part of the tennis programme at the club. The club's tennis operation is managed by inspire2coach, a leading tennis provider that specialises in coach education and club programmes. The company runs more than 30 tennis facilities across the Midlands including two Performance Centres at the Shrewsbury Club and the University of Warwick. The Shrewsbury Club is the flagship club within inspire2coach. This is an exciting role for the right person to develop the programme at this prestigious club in Shropshire.

As the key venue in Shropshire which hosts the county training and other activity ran by inspire2coach we see this role as an opportunity for the right individual to become a part of the Tennis Shropshire county training programme. This would mean that an opportunity to lead county training groups and travel to county cup competitions could be included in the role for additional payment.

The role will commence as early as the successful applicant is available. You will report to Director of Tennis, Simon Haddleton and the inspire2coach management team. The role will be on court with a combination of indoor and outdoor lessons available. There is a full-time job ready for the correct candidate with group hours and individuals ready for an immediate start. The successful candidate will become an important part of all areas of the programme and there is the opportunity to get deliver a vast range of sessions.

Overview of the Venue

The Shrewsbury Club is Shropshire's leading sports club with 14 tennis courts (6 indoor acrylic courts, 4 outdoor clay, 4 outdoor hard courts), a large gym, swimming pool with sauna and steam room, exercise studios, Imagine Spa, the Hub bistro and cafe bar. Tennis is an integral part of the club with an active adult membership, team tennis, various junior tennis programmes and an active wheelchair tennis section. Recently refurbished with a £1.6 million investment, The Shrewsbury Club is one of the most exclusive clubs in the Midlands. With a strong performance programme at The Shrewsbury Club, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with the best players in Shropshire, and also play an integral role in the delivery of County Tennis within Shropshire.
