2005 Mar 01 - Davis Cup: Parmar out
Arvind Parmar has been ruled out of the Great Britain's Davis Cup tie against Israel due to a knee injury
sustained last week.
The player to benefit and play a singles rubber will most likely be Alex Bogdanovic. It is also possible that
reigning US Open boys champion Andrew Murray and a revitalized David Sherwood will be selected to play together
in the doubles rubber.
Jeremy Bates (Great Britain captain) said of his David Sherwood appointment:
"David has earned his place in this squad on the merit of his form and results over the last 12 months."
Speaking of Greg Rusedski and the tie, he added:
"His wealth of experience is invaluable, particularly to the younger players and I know he will lead by
"We are looking forward to the tie. The squad are all in excellent form."
Travelling with the squad will be Jamie Delgado and Lee Childs as practice partners but there is the possibility
that either could be called up to play if required.
LIVE coverage will be shown on the BBC from the 4-6 March.
