2004 Sep 14 - Murray returns from US Open
British tennis sensation Andrew Murray has arrived back home in Dunblane, Scotland, following his momentous
victory against Ukrainian Sergei Stakhovsky 6-4 6-2 in the US Open boys final.
The 17-year-old is full of confidence and keen to repeat his success in the US Open at senior level in the future.
"I think I have got a chance of going all the way in tennis and that's what I want to do.
"I'd love to go back to the US Open and maybe win it in the seniors in three or four years."
The young Scot has already shown substantial ability and desire needed to make the transition from the
junior events to the seniors with his performances this year. However, when asked if junior success guarantees
success at a senior level he added:
"I don't feel like that at all and I'm just going to keep on working hard.
"I train in Spain (Barcelona), I'm playing with people who are older and better than me so there is no
way I am going to stop improving."
Andrew will not have much time to enjoy his success as he is set to join the British Davis Cup squad
in La Manga, Spain, as we prepare to take on Austria in the World Group Play-off starting 24th September.
