2004 Jul 03 - Olympics: Henman only representative
Athens 2004 will be a disappointing showcase for British tennis as only Tim Henman has made the grade
for the GB Olympic team.
The selection procedure was based on world tennis rankings and so with Greg Rusedski's ranking on the
slide and none of the young stars shining brightly enough we will be five short of the six which
represented Great Britain in Sydney 2000.
This means we will have absolutely no female representatives and of course means we will not feature
in any of the doubles events.
It is almost unbelievable that countries such as the Bahamas, Colombia and Luxembourg will have
more representatives than Great Britain.
