2004 May 12 - Henman early exit in Hamburg

Tim Henman was defeated in straight sets 6-2 6-2 by the Romanian Andrei Pavel in the second round of the Tennis Masters Hamburg, Germany.

The British No.1 didn't feel 100% in his first round match yesterday and was still feeling under-par today, something which the experienced Romanian was able to take full advantage of.

In the first set Tim was broken immediately and while unable to make any impact of the Pavel serve he was broken again for 6-2.

The second set started equally disappointing as Tim lost his first service game and from then on it was an uphill battle. Andrei then went in for the kill and broke Tim for the second time to seal an early exit in Hamburg for the Brit.
