2004 Apr 29 - David Lloyd partners Tennis Show 2004

Press Release - Issued on: 29/04/04

David Lloyd Leisure Partners The Tennis Show

David Lloyd Leisure, the UK and Ireland’s leading racquets, health and fitness group have become the official health club partner of The Tennis Show, between 14th-16th May 2004 at Earls Court 2 in London. On Court No.1 throughout the three days; David Lloyd’s experienced and qualified tennis coaches will be holding regular coaching sessions at 45-minute intervals. Whether you are a beginner or a regular match player, these sessions will prove invaluable to you. With many years experience, the David Lloyd coaches will improve your racquet skills and pass on some tips of the trade that will give you an edge over your opponent on the tennis court this summer!

There are 4 different levels of class: Starter, Re-Starter, Player and Competition – so choose your category, bring your racquet and come and let the David Lloyd coaches give your tennis a make-over. Remember to get to the court early as these coaching sessions are run on a first come, first served basis and only 6 players can be on court at any one time. If you have some youngsters in your family or school who are keen to improve their skills or just have fun on a court, then David Lloyd Leisure has scheduled some Mini Tennis sessions just for them. Tennis racquets will be available but if they want to bring their own, that’s fine. So in one day, the whole family can have great tennis coaching at every level and all for free!

David Lloyd Leisure is very excited about being an integral part of this first Tennis Show: “We are all excited about finding the next Tim Henman, but it is even more important to raise the profile of tennis, to get more people hitting more balls, and to remind people what a fun, social and healthy sport tennis can be. We are delighted to be working with the LTA and to be supporting The Tennis Show”. Said Brian Linskey, Group Racquets Manager, at David Lloyd Leisure.

David Lloyd Leisure has over 320,000 members across 56 clubs, with 41 or those clubs having fantastic tennis facilities, generally with both indoor and outdoor courts. A team of qualified tennis coaches and managers are always on hand to inspire every level of player and every age of aspiring Wimbledon champion – they will help whether you are wanting to improve your game or just have fun! David Lloyd also operates the largest junior tennis programme in Europe, with some 10,000 children playing on a weekly basis.
