2004 Mar 01 - Arvind Parmar wins Challenger
Arvind Parmer wrapped up a confidence boosting third Challenger Series title with a straight
sets victory 6-3 6-7(3) 6-3 over the Chinese Taipei player Yen-Hsun Lu in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
The British No.3 proved he is still a cut above the chasing Brits, as in the same event
Alex Bogdanovic departed in the second round to Michal Tabara of the Czech Republic, and Lee Childs
suffered a first round exit at the hands of Yuri Schukin of Russia.
2004 has started well for Arvind as he has already reached the semi-final in Wolfsburg, Germany where he
lost a tight match to the German Florian Mayer 4-6 7-6(2) 3-6, and a quarter-final in Cherbourg, France
where he lost an even closer match to the Frenchman Jean-Christophe Faurel 6-7(4) 6-3 6-7(3).
Arvind's run of good form has lifted his world ranking to 146.
