2004 Jan 08 - Rusedski out of AATP
Greg Rusedski was unable to build on his first round win at AAPT Championships in Adelaide, as he
was comfortably beaten 6-2 6-2 by the world No.86 Cyril Saulnier of France.
It is of no disrespect that Greg should lose to this little know tennis player, who at the age of
28 is starting to play some of the best tennis of his career.
After the match Greg said:
"It's only my second match back so I have to keep everything in perspective. I can only
improve from this performance.
"I thought (Saulnier) played well but I didn't really do too much today. I didn't handle
the conditions well enough and I hit too many double faults.
"If I'm not serving well, it puts me in a tough situation. He played well today. I have to give
him credit, he struck the ball well, but I didn't do enough out there."
Greg will next be in action at the adidas International in Sydney starting on the 12th January.
