2004 Jan 07 - Rusedski coasting in AAPT event
Greg Rusedski picked up where he left off yesterday in his rain delayed first round AAPT
Championship match against the 18 year old Swiss player Stanislas Wawrinka.
Leading 6-4 3-1, the remainder of the match was easier than a training session with Greg taking
3 of the next 4 games to take the set 6-2.
"I was pleased with the way it went. Even yesterday, I thought I
played well for my first game back. I enjoyed being out there and it's a building process.
"I haven't set any goals, I just want to enjoy my tennis, have fun and do my best. If I win
matches then I can start having goals but I just want to get on court and be healthy.
"There are also some advantages to being older. The mind knows what to do, even if the body
doesn't always follow suit."
The British No.2 will now face ATP Top 100 ranked Cyril Saulnier of France - the surprising winner against
talented American Robby Ginepri (6-3 6-4).
