2003 April 10 - Henman shoulder problems continue
Tim Henman had pulled out of the Tennis Masters Series event in Monte Carlo next week due to further shoulder problems.
This year has seen Tim compete in only 4 events, but experienced stiffness in his right shoulder
recently while taking in some clay court practice.
An MRI scan will follow to highlight the exact nature of the problem, but this is not ideal
preparation for the French Open. Tim said:
"Having taken my time to make sure that I am fully recovered from my operation, and
after feeling 100 per cent in America recently, it's really frustrating and very disappointing
to have picked up a slightly different problem.
"As I've said all along while undergoing extensive rehabilitation for the initial injury, I
have to be 100 per cent fit to compent with the very best in the world.
"As this isn't the case at the moment then I not only had to decline a wild card in Estoril,
but also to withdraw from Monte Carlo."
