Build Your Own Tennis Court

So you want some advice on building your own outdoor tennis court, a self-build if you will. Naturally the LTA have a lot to do with this. Take a look at the very usweful PDF files below, they cover every aspect of designing and building the right court using the right materials.

First up you need to decide on your court surface. Let's face it there's no better than a grass court, but let's be realistic, your best choice will probably be a hard macadam court.

Once you have decided on the perfect surface to suit your requirements, you will need planning permission (unless you already have a court/permission of course). So you get the all clear from those people in suits. You also get the materials delivered which you can't believe will eventually become your tennis court. Hold up! Make sure you get your tape measure out to ensure those perfect tennis court dimensions. Then proceed to build your court, waiting the appropriate amount of time before adding the very important court lines. Job done! Now all you need to do is maintain this masterpiece to ensure it remains in perfect condition for years to come.
